The Swedish Alliance for Middleware Infrastructure, SWAMI, is the organisation for middleware cooperation
in the Swedish higher education community. It is financed by its members and by Sunet.
The goal of SWAMI is to build a sustainable organisational framework for, mutually beneficial, cooperation in matters relating
to an infrastructure for authentication and authorization within the Swedish higher education community.

| InCommon, the first nationwide U.S. identity management federation for higher education, recently added six major
content and service providers and 18 universities to its growing online trust community. Since its inception in 2004,
InCommon has seen exponential growth in its participation and anticipates this trend will continue as more and more
universities and their resource provider partners see the benefits of leveraging federated identity management to ensure
easy, scalable and secure access to protected online materials.

The UK Access Management Federation for Education and Research provides a single solution to access online resources and services for education and research.
The federation uses the standards-based Shibboleth software, developed by the Internet2 community in the United States. Shibboleth defines a common framework
for access management that is being adopted by education and commercial sectors across the world.
